don’t be discouraged.., things will get better

It’s Friday?!? Where did this week go? Where did this month go?! I am really astounded by how fast time is passing!

How has everyone been? I’ve been kind of busy lately. It seems like only working three days a week that I would have a ton of free time to relax and sleep, but I don’t; or at least I haven’t made enough time for sleep!

With the kick off for Mosaic coming up in less than two weeks, I’m trying to figure things out for that; in the process of finding my first house and getting qualified for a mortgage; getting my butt kicked at crossfit; spending time with friends and family; attending to the responsibilities of an adult; promoting the Challenge; and reading a new book, Crazy Love.

As busy as I seem, I am so happy with life right now. Of course there are times that I just want to hide, but overall God is shining in my life with grace and mercy everlasting. One of my favorite parts of the book so far is when Francis Chan says, “When I am consumed by  my problems- stressed out about my life, my family, and my job- I actually convey the belief that I think the circumstances are more important than God’s commnad to always rejoice. In other words, that I have a ‘right’ to disobey God becuase of the magnitude of my responsibilities” WOW! I think this statement speaks enough truth for even the doubter of Christ to realize the falsity in his/her way of thinking. I am just taken back and humbled, because I know that Christ is WAY bigger than any trouble, problem, responsibility, or circumstance in my life, at any given time. I am honestly a lot happier and productive when I think like this!

This morning I was able to enjoy the morning on my porch!

Nicaraguan coffee with a splash of SF hazelnut creamer, pumpkin banana oatmeal (!!!), Proverbs 4, my journal, and my front porch. Porch sittin’ has got to be the best way to start and end a day, just sayin.

After I enjoyed my morning, I headed to the bank to speak with a lender about a loan for buying a house.

Guess what?!?! I got pre-qualified! I am now able to look for houses that I know I can afford. And the best part is that I can do it on my own without my parents help or assistance. Finally feeling like an adult 😉

After that meeting, which ran rather long, I headed to my box for crossfit! I listened to FAMS on the way, and it definitely got me jacked to crush the WOD today!

This is Jamie. Jamie loves crossfit 🙂

um… talk about drenched. I was a sweaty mess after the WOD. We warmed up with ring dip holds and a TON of calisthenic type stuff. Then, we completed the WOD, and cooled down with abs. Today was a rather interesting day at my box, because we had a group of guys that came who compete crossfit. It was awesome to have some inspiration at our box!

After my butt kicking, I headed over to get a mani and pedi that my mom bought a groupon for. The salon and spa was not the best I’ve been to, and I don’t think I’ll go back, but I love the color, and hey… I didn’t have to do it 🙂

I was starving by the time I got home from my mani/pedi because I only grabbed a quick protein shake after crossfit! So, as soon as I got home I made this little ommelette thing 🙂 It was one egg with 1/4 cup diced ham, with a little mustard on top. yum!

I’ve spent the rest of the afternoon working on healthstream EKG assignments for work. It is torture, but I am reminding myself that I am learning, and getting paid for it, and that there are worse things I could be doing. But still… homework?!?!

So, now, it’s 6:45 and I’m starving. I gotta go find me some dinner 🙂 I’m not sure what the night has in store, but you can follow me on twitter (@ckighttt) to see what I’m up to!

stay beautiful! xoxo

  1. I ❤ Wal-mart. I used to do ALL my shopping their when I lived in Aiken for college, but now, Wal-mart is not convenient for me to shop at. I compared prices at 4 different grocery stores and found Trader Joe's to be the cheapest! And I have off 4 days this weekend so I'm going to look on pinterest to see if I can find some DIY fall decorations 🙂 LOVE FALL.
