Monday, schmunday! Now that I’m a working girl, with a big girl job, I guess I’m supposed to hate Mondays? The truth is, I LOVE Monday. I love Monday because it is the start of a brand new week. A new week means new opportunities to help people, to make yourself happy, to serve God, to serve others, to tell someone you love that you love them every single day, to explore new places, and to find new adventures, even in a busy life. Even though every day is a gift, the anticipation of a new, fresh week, brings me so much excitement. Yes, it’s hard to get your brain and body off of “weekend” mode, but when you focus on the week- your priorities, plans, and schedule, a lot more productivity can be harvested if you actually looked at it with excitement, instead of dread; well at least that’s how it works for me!

Doesn’t this just make you smile?! 🙂

I also LOVE Monday, because I get paid EVERY Monday for doing something I love. I get paid to help people improve their health, improve their fitness, and improve their financial situation. Promoting the Body By Vi 90 Challenge is beneficial to my health and my wallet. PLUS, I have met some really awesome people :)!!    (If you’re interested in the challenge feel free to visit my website or shoot me an e-mail and I would LOVE to help you join and get started)

So anyway, referencing the title of this post, IT’S OVER, I’m talking about orientation. Today was the last official day of nursing orientation for my job. I start tomorrow bright and early at 7 am for my first 12 hour shift. I am so excited, nervous, scared… I can’t even wrap my mind around the fact that I have a job, and that I have a job in the area of the hospital I WANT to work in. God is so good, and He is definitely the one to praise for me landing this job! Prayer is powerful, y’all!

Breakfast was a repeat of what I’ve had the last week for breakfast, a vi-shake latte. It’s so good I just can’t not drink it.

Vi-Shake latte:

  • 2 scoops vi-shape shake mix
  • 1.5 C coffee

*mix and pour over ice and enjoy 🙂

I snacked on some crackers in our morning session, but couldnt wait until lunch, because I had shrimp and veggies to look forward to!

BBQ Shrimp and Veggies!

Since it was the last day, we were scheduled to finish up orientation with an excessively long computer class. It was very informational, but extremelyyyyyy long. I ended up snacking on some cherries and an apple later in the afternoon!

I wish I could say I remember everything from the last week of orientation, but I’d be lying. It was a lot of information to take in every day, and I’ve done my best to try and retain it. We got to take home all the material from orientaiton; I’d say 3 trees were killed per person to print as much as we were given 😦 The whole process was amazing though, and I am so thankful that I have a job and am blessed with this opportunity to serve others!

After class today I headed straight for the gym and tried a new workout that one of my friends posted on facebook today!

“Lap it”

– elliptical 1/2 mile
– 40 overhead squats
– 30 seated good mornings
*take a lap around your gym
– 40 push press
-30 jumping pull-ups
*take a lap around your gym
– 40 push-ups
-30 bicep curl to press
*take a lap around your gym
– 40 supermans
-30 v-ups
-elliptical 1/4 mile

I ended up finishing this circuit in about 29:44 and then walked 10 minutes on the treadmill at 4mph. Felt good to sweat after a long day of sitting!

Once I left the gym, I headed to the grocery store, one of my favorite places to go 🙂 As soon as I got home I started baking! I ended up making two kinds of muffins, blueberry and cranberry orange, to bring to work tomorrow, and made some cinnamon streusel muffins for the Barrow/Thomas family for my mom to take them! They turned out fabulous, in my opinion!

blueberry on the bottom, cranberry orange on the top!

cinnamon streusel!

I was starving after all that baking 🙂 oh, and working out! So I ended up making a quick strawberry banana vi-shake, while answering some e-mails and prepping the blog for this week!

Now, I’m off to shower and do a little reading before bed. I’m reading Counterfeit God’s if you didn’t read about it yesterday!

stay beautiful! xoxo

  1. Omg, I love Body by Vi products! I’ve tried the shakes and they are amazing! I recently ran out of my bag 😦 I work out at Bally’s and my trainer had a session on the 90 day challenge and it was amazing to see the results. I’m very happy I came across your blog! 🙂
