better late than never

Hello beautifuls 🙂

Just a recap- Monday…My alarm went off nice at early at 6 AM. I actually popped out of bed, ready for my run! I went to O’dell Weeks park on the south-side of Aiken to hit the track. I maintained a 9 minute mile pace, which I am very happy with! After I got my run on, I stopped by Wal-mart on the way home to get some essentials. After I unloaded I picked up Leo and went for a leisurely 20 minute walk, just so I could enjoy the morning and mentally prepare for the week! At that point my tummy was grumbling so I brewed a pot of coffee and made a delicious vi-shake.

In the shake:

  • 1 c. unsweetened vanilla coconut almond milk
  • 1/3 c. frozen cherries
  • 2 scoops of vi-shake nutritional shake mix
  • 1 T. mocha latte powder
  • several ice cubes
  • pinch of xanthan gum

This shake definitely hit the spot and was a perfect recovery drink from my run.

The majority of the morning was spent studying for my leadership and management of nursing test I have on Wednesday! I also was able to do a devotion, which can be found here. I studied for a community nursing re-test, and worked on my graduation announcements and list of people I want to send them to. And yes, I know I am working on these a little late… woops!

After I took my re-test I hit the gym to do a quick circuit workout to get some strength in. I did two rounds of this workout! Thanks, Julie!

I showered real quick then had to head to Augusta, GA for an AACN meeting. The meeting wasn’t really suited for visitors, seeing as they discussed budgets and such, but the opportunity to be involved was pretty cool.

I came home and scrambled up some eggs with the laughing cow swiss cheese. Along side this cheesy goodness I made a peanut butter tortilla wrap with a little bit of honey and cinnamon, yummmm! I finished up some studying and caught up on some e-mails, then hit the sack early!

So, we’re on to yesterday! My alarm went off at the lovely hour of 4:59 AM. I’m really weird about setting alarms. I can’t set it on an even time, it always has to be an odd number. I headed to the gym for spin this morning! It was a very sweaty class, but I love the climbs, because I can really feel the burn and my heart poundin! After spin, I did a short 20 minutes of weights.

I did 3 sets of 10 of the following:

  • chest fly
  • hip adduction
  • hip abduction
  • triceps push-down
  • leg curls
  • back extension
  • leg extension
  • lat pull-down
  • torso twist

I came home and picked up Leo for a short 10 minute walk to cool down. The mornings are so beautiful. I love being able to see the sun rise 🙂 Once I cooled down, I started a pot of coffee and made a delicious protein latte.

In the latte:

  • 1.5 c. Folgers creme brulee coffee
  • 2 scoops vi-shake nutritional shake mix
  • 1 T. sugar-free caramel machiato creamer
  • 1 T. vanilla caramel latte powder

I blended all this together and it tastes soooooo good 🙂 Watch out Starbucks!!

Once I drank my latte and caught up on some e-mails I studied a little for my test tomorrow in leadership and management of nursing, and drank a ton of water, because Warm Vinyasa Yoga was calling my name!

Yoga was uh-maze-inggggg! Warm Vinyasa was new to me, and I absolutely approve. I definitely plan on going back 🙂

I decided to take Leo on another walk. I feel bad for him being inside all day, so we took a 20 minute stroll around the Haven. It was hot, but being outside is best. I came in and showered, lord knows I needed to! Then, I got to work on lunch! I wanted something cold and something yummy, so I made a big ole’ yogurt mess.

In the “mess”:

  • 1 c. Fage 0% Greek Yogurt
  • 2 T. Walden Farms Peanut Butter spread
  • 1 medium banana
  • a dash of cinnamon
  • 1/8 c. uncle sam’s original
  • 1/8 c. special K protein plus
  • 1/8 c. kashi heart to heart
  • 1/8 c. mesa sunrise cereal
  • 1 small box raisins

This was very delicious, and just what I was craving. I also had a few carrots with hummus and a handful of veggie chips.

My afternoon today consisted of schoolwork, schoolwork, and more schoolwork. I had to read nearly 100 pages in a nursing book, study for my leadership and management of nursing test tomorrow, and come up with some sort of study plan so that I can stay focused and get my crap done to graduate May 3rd! I also was able to clean my room and take an hour long nap 🙂

I’m glad I had a productive afternoon because I was most certainly going to the baseball game. I had a weird dinner before I headed out to the game, which consisted of two veggie dogs, a peanut butter sandwich (1 T. skippy natural with honey on a multi-grain sandwich thin). I grabbed a diet soda and headed to the field!

USCA played Payne College, out of Augusta, GA. The game was SO LONG, but the team managed to pull out the dub, which is all that matters. During the game I sat with my friend Alex and her “suga” aka her mom.

I was a little hungry when I got home, so I popped a 100 calorie bag of kettle corn and munched on that while I went over my notes one last time before calling it a night. And yes, it is another early night for me.

This morning my alarm went of again at 459 AM and I was VERY tempted to just get some sleep, but I really was excited for bodypump! The class was good today, I increased my weight some, and I know I will probably be feeling it later today. After hitting the gym early I came home and took Leo on a 30 minute walk around the neighborhoods that surround my apartment complex. I was able to clear my mind, cool down, and get mentally prepared for the day 🙂

Now it’s time to make some coffee and a vi-shake, study a little, and then head on campus for class! Last day of undergrad classes = bittersweet.
